Paua Abalone shells are manufactured to produce a sheet that can be dyed to create different and unique "patterns", then sealed in clear resin, resulting in a higher grade finished pen. The blank is buffed to a nice shine and is durable enough to last a lifetime. These pens use refillable ink cartridges obtainable at any office supply store.
